The Owl's Tree
Bettye Stroud, Author  Books and stories are still Bettye’s favorite toys.  From
playing school to being a teacher and media specialist, bringing reading, writing, and
children together is her passion.  A Georgia native, she treasures stories about
children and her African-American heritage.  Betty also teaches writing classes and
reviews books.
Bettye’s presentation includes slides with pages from her books, writing tricks, and
discussions of how her stories developed. Students often suggest actions her
characters might have taken and explore how they could change the stories.
Her books: Dance Y’all ($15.95), The Leaving ($15.95), and Patchwork Path ($15.99)
