Cadice Shepherd, Storyteller Following her mother’s advice, “Read with expression!” she became her school’s reading whiz. Soon she was reading and telling stories to her classmates. Brooklyn didn’t erase her family’s Caribbean lilt or dramatic heritage. She celebrates both as she enthusiastically promotes the power of the spoken word and the joy of stories read, written, and told.
