Joel Hayes, Cowboy Poet Dressed as a working cowboy, Joel often twists his handlebar moustache as he recites poetry, tells tales, and answers questions. He ranges from reading and writing, to whips, ropes, rowels, beans, biscuits, horses, and other cowboy subjects. From farm boy to farmer, he loved cattle, horses, people, and reading. As a soldier in Vietnam and a telephone lineman in Georgia, he built a reputation as a storyteller, poet, and chuck wagon cook. From Elko, Nevada’s Cowboy Poetry Gathering to Georgia and points east, Joel shares original and classic cowboy poems and tales.
